How to Apply & Get OBC Certificate via Online in TamilNadu
What is the OBC Certificate?
OBC Certificate is the Caste Certificate issued by State Government & Central Government as well to identify your economic status in our society. It is a must get the OBC Certificate to join Schooling, getting Job, etc. There are reservations for OBC(Other Backward Class). Almost all Weaker Caste sections have a reservation in all places.

Go to the Website: TNeGA( http://tnesevai.tn.gov.in/)
Step 1:-
When you enter the website. Click the Citizen Login which is on the right side of the page. Check from the below image for reference.
Step 2:-
After entering your login details on the Citizen Login page. You will be taken to the page like the image shown below. If you are not signed up yet. Please register by providing your details correctly and create it.

After you logged in it will take you to the Services Page. Click the Revenue Department which is shown in the Department section.
Step 3:-
After Clicking the Revenue Department. It shows all the records it has. Change the Number of Records per page from 10 to 25 (or) 50.
Now Click REV-115 Other Backward Classes(OBC) Certificate like in the below image.
Step 4:-
After that, it takes you to Instructions for applying the OBC Certificate page where you will be instructed about the required documents, application fees & payment methods.
Service Description: The System of issuing a permanent certificate was introduced in the year 1988 in Tamilnadu. It is valid for securing Admission in all educational institutions and other professional institutions and also for employment.
Application Fees: You will be charged 60 Rs for each application of the OBC Certificate. You can pay using a debit card, Net Banking, etc.
Supporting Documents:
- Photo(Mandatory)
- Any Address Proof(Mandatory)
- Proof of Income[Payslip, Income Certificate, etc](Optional)
- Community Certificate(Mandatory)
- Income Tax Return(Optional)
- Other Documents
After reading all the instructions and made available all the required documents in a scanned format, Click Proceed to go further.
Step 5:-
Now Enter the details asked in the below page such as CAN Number, Father name, mail id, mobile number, etc.
NOTE: If you don’t have CAN Number Register CAN Number first before applying OBC Certificate. Click “Register Can” to undergo the registration process.
CAN Number is the one-time registration process. You can use this CAN number to apply and get any Proof online with ease.
After entering all details Click search. It will show your CAN number details in the column and also send an OTP to your registered mobile for verification as shown in the image above.
Confirm the OTP and Click Proceed to go to the next step.
Step 6:-
After that, you have to fill the Application details. Some details are already auto-filled from the CAN Number. Just fill other details like personal details, Father & Mother details, etc.
After filling all the details, click the checkbox of the Declaration and Submit.
Step 7:-
Now it’s time to upload all required Documents to get OBC Certificate. Here They listed out the Documents which are to be submitted compulsory. Photo, Any Address proof, Community Certificate & Self Declaration Form are mandatory to apply for OBC Certificate.
NOTE:
- Supported File types: pdf, jpg, gif, png
- Supported File size of document: 200KB
- Supported File size of Photo: 50KB
Download Self Declaration Form:-
Click Download Self Declaration Form link on that page itself. If you do not find the link, look at the below image where I mark the link from where you can download the Self-Declaration form.
Take Print out and sign the form and scan and upload the signed document
Step 8:-
After uploading all the required documents, It will take you to the Payment page. Click Make Payment Button and Pay using any payment method.
Step 9:-
After payment is done, You will be given an Acknowledgment Receipt. Download that Slip and take Print out.
Revenue Department verifies your Application and uploads your OBC Certificate online within a few days(usually takes 7- 15 days). You can download the uploaded OBC Certificate from the ESevai ID.
