What is JNVs(Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya)?
Students from Poor families and children from no backgrounds or orphans should not get good high-quality education despite they are excellent in Academics.
To give poor students a proper and exemplary education, the Government started Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya(JNV) at an affordable fee structure where Poor and underrated students get an education like Private schools do.
Every Year Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti conducts Entrance Exams for Class 5 students all over India. Exam forms are available at all govt schools and panchayat Samiti for free of cost. The Selection Test will be conducted in February month or earlier. Those who cleared the Selection Test can get into Class 6th in Navodaya. It is the only procedure to get in JNVs.
Apart from Class 6, Admissions for Class 9th & Class 11th were also conducted in the same procedure.

Issue of Admit Cards
Admit Cards are made available from 1st March 2020 in the Application portal of https://cbseitms.rcil.gov.in which will be downloaded for free by the Students / Parents before the Exam date.
Result Date of Selection Test 2020
The Result of JNVST 2020 is expected to be announced by the last week of May 2020 for all JNVs.
Results are displayed in the offices of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, District Education Officer, District Magistrate, Deputy Commissioner, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti of the Region.

Test Pattern of JNVST 2020
The selection test duration is 2 hours from 11.30 am to 1.30 am. Questions are Objective type of question covers 3 sections. There are 80 questions in total for 100 marks.

Section 1: Mental Ability Test
This is a non – verbal test. Questions are based on figures and diagrams only. Questions are meant to assess general mental functioning of the candidates.
Section 2: Arithmetic Test
The main purpose of this test is to measure a candidate’s basic competencies in Arithmetic. All 20 Questions in the Test will be based on these 15 Topics. They are

- Conversion of Fraction to Decimal
- Measurement of Length, Mass, Velocity, Money, etc

Section 3: Language Test
The main purpose of this test is to assess the reading comprehension of the candidates. The test consists of four passages and each passage consist of 5 questions. Candidates shall read each passage carefully and answer the questions.
A separate OMR Sheet will be provided to each and every student to indicate the Answers on the appropriate place with Blue/Black point pen. Students are prohibited from using Pencil.
Admission Format for Class 6 Students through JNVST 2024
A selected list of students for admission to Class VI through JNVST-2024 has been released. The parents/guardians of selected students may take the following steps for admission to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya:
- Formats for submission of details may be downloaded
- Filled in formats are to be submitted to the Principal of JNV concerned as per schedule.
- Certificates from the competent authority in respect of Rural, OBC, SC, ST
and Disability as applicable are to be submitted to the JNV for verification of documents/eligibility to confirm admission to Class VI

Documents to be submitted after Selection
The parents of the candidates who qualify the Selection Test will have to submit the following documents at the time of admission for verification: –
- Residence Certificate in prescribed proforma in case of NIOS study only
- Proof for date of birth.
- Proofs for eligibility as per the conditions of NVS.
- For candidates seeking admission under rural quota, the parents will also have to submit a certificate to the effect that the child had studied in an Institution located in a notified rural area.
